Oceania 407
This was our first visit to Destin. Oceania 407 is beautiful. The condo is newly updated, clean, and has a fantastic view of the gulf. We loved watching the dolphins every morning. We are already looking forward to staying here again next year.

January 2017 Stay
We had a really nice stay at the condo. Very comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the balcony viewing sunrises sunsets and dolphin watching.

Oceania
We have been renting 2 to 3 Oceania units every summer since 1997 right after it was built . This past week, we rented # 603, # 406 and # 407. We love the location, huge beach, great beach service ( Bo the umbrella guy is terrific ! ) and 3-bedroom configurations. However, the units are suffering from serious neglect. The balcony furniture is very limited and in poor condition and there is inadequate and worn cookware in the kitchens. The double pane sliding glass balcony doors are fogging in some cases and the balcony door frames need painting. Also, the furniture and fixtures inside many units are worn,dated and in poor taste for the Florida beaches. The maids are doing a poor job of cleaning as well, particularly in the kitchen. The small rectangular swimming pool seems dated and out of place for a condo like Oceania. My family wants us to start looking in South Walton for other opportunities next summer for the first time ever since we feel that we are paying top dollar at Oceania and just not having the great experience we had in earlier years. This year for the first time, there were groups on the beach with blaring jam boxes drinking heavily and behaving like spring breakers with no regard for their neighbors on the beach. Even to the point of sitting in some of our chairs on the beach while some of our group was still there. We had 5 umbrellas and ten chairs. Overall, it seems that the Oceania renters are not what they used to be and the condo is evolving away from a great family vacation alternative. It seems that Oceania is in a death spiral. Oceania could be the absolute premier condo in the Destin/ South Walton area based on the enormous beach frontage and location near the harbor and the entertainment/restaurant area . However, the Oceania owners and the condo association are going to have to step up and invest some money in the units and common areas to protect their investments. It will pay off over the long run by significantly increasing the value of the units.

September 2018 Stay

Everything was wonderful, nice and clean. We will definitely stay in 407 again.
